Under New Brunswick’s Occupational Health and Safety Act, all workers have the right to refuse work that they have reasonable grounds to believe might endanger their safety, or the safety of others. Exercising this right is serious and should not be done lightly or as a routine method of solving workplace problems. A worker cannot be disciplined for exercising their right to refuse.
