Your responsibilities while treating injured workers

Health care providers must recognize WorkSafeNB's role and responsibility to adhere to the requirements and principles of the Workers' Compensation Act in managing a worker's compensation claim.

It is the responsibility of health care providers to:

  • Submit quality and timely clinical reports.

  • Recognize the importance of the principle of early and safe return to work for injured workers to their overall well being.

  • Be aware of their role in assisting patients and their employers in a safe and early return to work and stay at work, as outlined in the Canadian Medical Association's policy and adopted by the New Brunswick Medical Society.

  • Work co-operatively with WorkSafeNB staff to ensure that injured workers receive appropriate treatment.
