A New Brunswick native, Sonia Lanteigne obtained her bachelor of arts at Dalhousie University and her bachelor of laws from the Université de Moncton. She was called to the New Brunswick Bar in 1999 and has since worked in areas of law such as investigations, defense, corporate litigation and regulatory compliance. She has held positions of progressive responsibility within a number of law firms, Correctional Services Canada, Assumption Life and Atlantic Lottery Corporation.
Most recently, Sonia joined WorkSafeNB in 2014 as Legal Counsel and Privacy Officer where she gained additional legal experience in the fields of workers’ compensation, occupational health and safety, privacy, human rights, employment law, administrative law, constitutional law and criminal law. She holds the designation of Certified Information Privacy Professional/Canada and obtained her Certified In-House Counsel designation in 2018.
