WorkSafeNB announces the launch of a public consultation seeking input on potential legislative changes to the Firefighters' Compensation Act (FC Act). The consultation aims to gather valuable feedback from various stakeholders, including firefighter unions, municipalities, government agencies and large employers, on proposed changes that could impact presumptive cancer coverage and workers’ compensation for firefighter.
Firefighters play a crucial role in our communities, risking their health and safety to ensure our own. WorkSafeNB is considering asking the government to merge the Firefighters’ Compensation (FC) Act into the Workers' Compensation (WC) Act and expand the list of presumptive cancers. Stakeholder feedback will be crucial in shaping final decisions.
