About Progressive Agriculture Safety Day: Progressive Agriculture Safety Day, founded by the Progressive Farmer Foundation in 1995, is a fun, hands-on approach that helps children learn about health and safety. The program is offered across Canada, the U.S., and U.S. territories. WorkSafeNB first sponsored Progressive Agriculture Safety Day in the 2006-07 school year. It initially focused on farm safety but WorkSafeNB has since broadened the scope to include safety at home, at play and at school. Children are divided into small supervised groups and they rotate through various stations covering such topics as bicycle safety, lawn equipment safety and chemical safety.
