Rates/Fees 

1. WorkSafeNB requires receipts to reimburse the costs of any and all of the following clothing.

Treatment of compensable injury

2. WorkSafeNB reimburses clothing, including footwear and gloves, provided as medical aid at cost.

3. WorkSafeNB reimburses at cost the repair or replacement of up to two pairs of custom-made or modified footwear or gloves per 12 month period.

Damage due to an accident

4. WorkSafeNB reimburses up to a maximum for repairing or replacing clothing damaged in a compensable accident. For 2026, WorkSafeNB can reimburse up to a maximum of:

Damaged by medical apparatus

5. WorkSafeNB provides reimbursement to an annual maximum of $522.67 for the cost of repairing or replacing damaged clothing from wearing a prosthesis or orthosis or using a wheelchair provided for a compensable injury. WorkSafeNB reimburses up to $1,045.34, annually, when a worker has multiple amputations.

Return to work

6. WorkSafeNB provides footwear to injured workers when it is required as part of a return to work program, to a maximum of:

  • $284.62 for boots; and
  • $160.86 for shoes.

For return to work training programs with specific dress codes, WorkSafeNB may also provide up to a maximum of $321.62 to offset the cost.

This benefit is provided up to one-time per return to work plan, for workers returning to a new occupation by reason of injury.
