News Release WorkSafeNB investigates fatality – Barry Wilson

Saint John: An accident that occurred on the early hours of the morning of June 19h at a worksite near Sackville, NB, has claimed the life of Barry Wilson, 52.

Wilson, a heavy equipment operator working for Beal and Inch Construction Ltd., was working on the excavation and repair of a water main off the Trans Canada Highway. He received fatal chest injuries when he was pinned beneath the roller he was driving, after it flipped over on uneven ground, throwing him from the vehicle.

A WHSCC Health and Safety Officer was immediately dispatched to the scene, and an investigation of the accident is underway, to determine whether there were violations of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act.
