Saint John: An accident that occurred on the morning of June 8th at the Smurfit Stone Pulp Mill in Bathurst, NB, has since claimed the life of Cleo Landry, 58.
Landry, an electrician, suffered a head injury while working, and was transported to the Bathurst hospital by ambulance. Over the next two days his condition deteriorated, and on June 10th, Landry succumbed to his injuries.
A WHSCC Health and Safety Officer has responded, and an investigation of the accident is underway, to determine whether there were violations of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act.
