Saint John: The WHSCC said today that it will not negotiate with CUPE Local 1866 in the media. The Commission said that they have presented a framework for future negotiations to the Union and that the Commission is always willing to meet with the Union’s negotiating committee. The WHSCC stated that the Conciliation Commissioner’s Report, referred to by the Union, is being misinterpreted.
The WHSCC has taken steps to ensure that the provisions under the Public Service Labour Relations Act for protecting the public’s interests are being applied, which means benefits will be maintained but there may be some delay in services.
