News Release WorkSafeNB investigates fatality in Aroostook – Sterling Sturgeon

Saint John: THE WHSCC is investigating a workplace accident that has claimed the life of a 60-year-old man on June 6, 2007.

The worker, a heavy equipment operator, was working on a highway construction site in Aroostook when a section of rock cliff gave way and fell onto the cab of the excavator he was operating. He was an employee of Atcon Construction.

Two WHSCC officers were dispatched immediately, at approximately 7:00 p.m. on June 6. An investigation is ongoing to determine whether there were violations to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
