Saint John, NB: The Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission (WHSCC) is investigating an accident at the Canaport LNG site that claimed the life of a 44-year-old worker on Wednesday, January 30.
It appears that the worker fell from elevation while working on a gondola beneath an overhead crane.
WHSCC officers were dispatched as soon as the accident was reported, and are still investigating to determine whether there were violations to the Occupational Health and Safety Act. At this time, no orders have been written or charges laid.
