Saint John, NB: The Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission (WHSCC) is investigating an accident that claimed the life of a 55-year-old Port Elgin man Tuesday.
Joe Sweeney, a truck driver with Rehau Industries, died in hospital of injuries sustained when a hay bale fell on him as he attempted to adjust the load after it had shifted.
WHSCC officers are still investigating to determine whether there were violations to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and to make recommendations to prevent such a tragedy from recurring.
