WorkSafeNB is investigating a workplace injury at the Belledune Rock Quarry that resulted in a worker losing a leg.
Steve Lesson, a 41-year-old truck driver with R.E. & J.E. Friars, a division of RST Trucking, was standing next to his truck when another truck, which was unmanned at the time, rammed into his truck and pinned him between the two, crushing his legs.
The accident occurred at around noon November 4.
WorkSafeNB and the Department of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada are conducting a joint investigation to determine the cause and whether there were violations of occupational health and safety legislation, and to make recommendations to prevent a similar incident from happening again.
