WorkSafeNB was recently named as a finalist in the 2010 Public Sector Leadership Awards, an annual honour bestowed by the Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC), and one of Canada’s leading professional services firms, Deloitte. For its submission, Affording Rehabilitation: Innovation Through Partnership, WorkSafeNB has been recognized as a public sector leader that helps improve Canada’s quality of life and global standing as a nation.
The IPAC/Deloitte Public Sector Leadership Awards program recognizes organizations that have demonstrated outstanding leadership by taking bold steps to improve Canada, through advancements in public policy and management.
The awards panel evaluated WorkSafeNB’s recent demonstration of public sector leadership as the organization entered into innovative partnerships with private health care providers to create service delivery alternatives that focus on excellence in rehabilitative medicine.
“Our firm is pleased to sponsor these leadership awards as the recipients have demonstrated innovation, collaboration and partnerships as critical transformation tools,” said Deloitte partner Lloyd Foote, at the award presentation to WorkSafeNB in Saint John.
“I’m pleased that our organization was named a finalist in this national awards program. It is a testament to our outgoing president’s commitment to executing WorkSafeNB’s vision on behalf of its stakeholders,” said chairperson Sharon Tucker, on behalf of WorkSafeNB's board of directors.
“I am very proud that WorkSafeNB has been recognized for challenging the conventional approach to delivering the services essential to the medical care and rehabilitation of our injured worker clients, and more broadly, for enhancing the provincial health care delivery model,” said WorkSafeNB president and CEO, Douglas Stanley. “By building these partnerships, we deliver on our commitment to obtaining the right treatment, at the right time and at the right cost for injured workers. Furthermore, we now offer to meet the specialized rehabilitative needs of all New Brunswickers, as well as the injured workers cared for by WorkSafeNB.”
