News Release WorkSafeNB Launches New Interactive E-Learning Modules to Help Young Workers Stay Safe

October 24, 2025

With thousands of young New Brunswickers stepping into the workforce this season, many for the very first time, WorkSafeNB is proud to launch interactive e-learning modules tailored specifically to youth entering the workplace.

From bustling retail outlets and vibrant tourism operations to busy construction sites and fast-paced food service establishments, young workers are an essential part of the province’s economy. In 2024, approximately 51,300 individuals aged 15 to 24 were employed in New Brunswick, highlighting the importance of providing young workers with effective occupational health and safety education resources.

“We developed these online resources focusing on youth safety, because WorkSafeNB recognizes the unique challenges faced by new and inexperienced employees entering the workforce,” said Tim Petersen, President and CEO of WorkSafeNB. “Our vision is making New Brunswick the safest place to work, and we want our future generations of workers to be empowered to keep our province’s workplaces safe.”

The WorkSafeNB young workers modules were designed by industry safety experts and use interactive, scenario-based learning to engage young minds. With practical tips, relatable examples and a user-friendly format, the tools are ideal for use in classrooms, orientation sessions and personal study.

Employers and educators are encouraged to incorporate the modules into their onboarding and safety programs. These e-learning modules empower young workers with practical knowledge to stay protected and alert in any work environment.
