News Release WorkSafeNB’s Health & Safety Conference 2025 brings world-class keynotes to Fredericton

Three extraordinary stories of resilience, leadership, and purpose will take centre stage at the 2025 Health & Safety Conference, Oct. 8–10 at the Fredericton Convention Centre.

🎤 Opening Keynote – Roméo Dallaire

He saw the world at its darkest and emerged a voice for hope. Retired Lt.-Gen Roméo Dallaire will share his journey through the lasting impact of PTSD following his service during the Rwandan genocide. With credibility and compassion, Dallaire breaks the silence around mental health, challenges stigma, and calls for greater understanding and support.

🎤 Keynote – Tyler Smith

“I survived the unthinkable. Now I speak to inspire others.” Tyler Smith – Humboldt Broncos bus crash survivor, mental health advocate, and Amazing Race Canada winner – will deliver a powerful, deeply personal keynote on resilience, recovery, and the power of conversation.

🎤 Closing Keynote – Dr. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif

Super Bowl champion, physician, and humanitarian Dr. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif will close the conference with his inspiring story, Performing Through Balance. He’ll share how walking away from the NFL to serve in a Quebec care home during the pandemic reshaped his perspective on performance, purpose, and what really matters.
