WorkSafeNB is pleased to announce the winners of its annual Focus on Safety student video competition.
Students in this year’s competition brought incredible creativity and a clear commitment to safety. Their videos show what workplace safety looks like in action and encourage young workers to take ownership of their well-being.
Anastazia Kabusimbi, Avhustina Salomatina , Rocio Leal Quezada, Lais Evangelista de Oliveira , Maité Kolbe Alves da Silva Potenza and Iman Alkabour of Samuel de Champlain claimed won first place for this video Sécurité dans une clinique vétérinaire. They claimed the grand prize of $1,000 and a matching prize for their school.
“Everyone in our group loves animals, and animals are important to us. We wanted to show how to work safely with animals, since they can only communicate through actions,” the team shared on receiving news of their win.
WorkSafeNB receives support from the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety for our annual student competition. The winning New Brunswick video will go on to compete in the national contest in May.
Second place went to École L'Odyssée de Moncton students Malek Imazitene and Dave Ntwari and third prize went to Gabrielle McIntosh and Lydia Rahmeh, also of Samuel de Champlain.
We congratulate all participants and winners for championing safety through their work. They deliver a strong message: everyone plays a role in creating a safe workplace, no matter their age or experience.
WorkSafeNB is committed making New Brunswick the safest place to work and supporting the next generation of workers.
