January 8, 2026

Atlantic Business Magazine has named WorkSafeNB as one of Atlantic Canada’s Best Places to Work for 2026, selecting the organization from among 255 nominees across the region. This honour speaks to the strength of WorkSafeNB’s workplace culture and the shared commitment of its people to advancing the vision of making New Brunswick the safest place to work.

The designation builds on WorkSafeNB’s recent national recognition as a Top Employer in Atlantic Canada and underscores the organization’s continued focus on fostering a safe, inclusive, and empowering workplace.

“Our people are at the heart of everything we do,” said Tim Petersen, WorkSafeNB’s president and CEO. “This recognition belongs to the dedicated employees across our organization who show up every day with care, professionalism, and a shared commitment to making New Brunswick the safest place to work. When our employees feel valued, supported, and safe, they bring their best judgment and care to the work, and that directly strengthens our impact as an organization.”

“People do not come to WorkSafeNB just for a job. They come because they want their work to matter,” said Laragh Dooley, vice-president of People and Culture. “Our focus is on building a culture of trust, growth, and psychological safety so employees feel supported to do meaningful work that serves workers, families, and communities across New Brunswick.”

WorkSafeNB’s approach to being an employer of choice is grounded in its values of accountability, collaboration, and trust. The organization invests in competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and wellness supports, while also offering flexible work arrangements, leadership development, and continuous learning opportunities that enable employees to grow and thrive in their roles.

“As a Crown organization with safety at the heart of its mandate, we ask a lot of our people,” Petersen said. “This recognition affirms that how we support and develop our employees matters and that investing in people is essential to delivering on our responsibility to New Brunswickers.”

As a “Best Place to Work,” WorkSafeNB:

  • Fosters a supportive and inclusive environment where every employee feels valued and heard.
  • Provides robust benefits, wellness supports, and psychological health and safety initiatives.
  • Offers ongoing training and upskilling so employees are engaged, empowered, and ready for change.
  • Makes safety and injury prevention foundational—not just in policy, but in everyday culture and behaviour.

This most recent recognition reinforces WorkSafeNB’s belief that a strong internal culture is essential to organizational excellence.  By investing in its people, WorkSafeNB has strengthened its ability to serve workers, employers, and communities across the province.
