News Release WorkSafeNB launches new psychological health and safety resource centre

June 9, 2026

WorkSafeNB is pleased to launch its new online Psychological Health and Safety Resource Centre to provide practical tools and expert guidance to help New Brunswick employers create safer and more supportive workplaces.

A psychologically safe workplace is one where people can speak up, ask for help, share ideas, and learn from mistakes without fear. As part of its commitment to making New Brunswick the safest place to work, WorkSafeNB is helping employers across the province build these environments by providing tools and guidance to prevent psychological harm and strengthen workplace culture.

“We cannot overstate the importance of psychological health and safety in the workplace,” said Tim Petersen, WorkSafeNB's president & CEO. “When employees feel safe and valued, it leads to stronger teams, fewer injuries and better business outcomes.”

The new WorkSafeNB Psychological Health and Safety Resource Centre offers helpful information to guide employers at every stage of their psychological health and safety journey. The resource centre includes evidence-based information, awareness materials, and links to the national standard and will continue to evolve as new research, tools and templates are developed in partnership with experts in New Brunswick and across the country.

“Everyone deserves to feel safe at work – in every sense of the word,” Petersen said. “Through this initiative, WorkSafeNB is helping employers take practical steps to protect the psychological health and safety of our province’s workforce and build safer workplaces.”

Beyond the new resources, WorkSafeNB also offers specialized psychological health and safety consultation services to support organizations in high-risk industries such as emergency services, corrections, and healthcare. This service helps employers identify and address psychosocial hazards, reduce the risk of traumatic psychological injuries (TPIs), and embed psychological safety into everyday practice.
