Threads of Life, the Association for Workplace Tragedy Family Support, recently presented WorkSafeNB with its award for Program Advancement in Partnership, for 2016.

The Partnership Award recognizes WorkSafeNB’s efforts in promoting Threads of Life programs and services within the province, ensuring that families and individuals coping with a workplace tragedy have access to support. WorkSafeNB has shared information and stories with its clients, and has provided funding for family forums so that injured workers and affected families can find a caring, understanding community.

WorkSafeNB sponsors the Threads of Life’s annual awareness and fundraising event - Steps for Life – in which a large number of staff participate and help organize and deliver the event.

WorkSafeNB also promotes Threads of Life by providing them with a booth at the Annual Health and Safety Conference, and through staff information sessions.

WorkSafeNB is also actively involved on the Threads of Life board of directors, with vice-president of  WorkSafe Services, Shelly Dauphinee, contributing her expertise and commitment as a director.

“Without our partners like WorkSafeNB, Threads of Life couldn’t do its work,” said executive director Shirley Hickman.  “We rely on WorkSafeNB to help build a network of hope and healing for people affected by workplace tragedy, in New Brunswick and across Canada.”

Mark your calendars: The next Steps for Life walk will take place in Saint John on Sunday, May 7, 2017. All are welcome!
