Joint health and safety committees (JHSCs) are integral to safety in workplaces with 20 or more employees. Becoming a JHSC member means a commitment to training. All members must receive WorkSafeNB-approved training within one year of joining a JHSC. WorkSafeNB offers e-courses and collaborates with trainers to provide high-quality JHSC training.
One of the three options, outlined in the chart below, must be completed in full by all JHSC members.

Note: The five WorkSafeNB e-courses must be completed before any in-class (option 2) or virtual class instruction (option 3).
You will receive a certification of completion upon completing the WorkSafeNB’s e-courses. You must still complete the one day of in-class (option 2) or virtual (option 3) instruction.
The five e-courses provided by WorkSafeNB are required for blended (option 2) and virtual (option 3) and are free of charge. Employers are responsible for the remaining in-person or virtual training cost.
