Young Worker Safety Course

WorkSafeNB’s interactive e-learning modules are designed to help young workers build a strong foundation in workplace safety. Through real-life examples and engaging activities, these modules provide practical knowledge and skills to help youth stay safe on the job. Participants will receive a certificate upon completion.

What you'll learn:

Module 1 – Introduction to Occupational Health and Safety

An overview of why workplace safety matters, common risks young workers face and the importance of developing a safety-first mindset from day one.

Module 2 – OHS Management Systems and Processes

Explains how safety is managed in the workplace, including the systems, procedures and practices employers use to prevent injuries and keep workers safe.

Module 3 – High Risk Hazards

Focuses on the most common and serious hazards young workers may encounter across various industries and how to identify, assess and control them.

Module 4 – OHS Roles and Responsibilities

Outlines the responsibilities of workers, employers and supervisors when it comes to workplace health and safety, including the right to refuse unsafe work.

Module 5 – Occupation-Specific Information

Provides tailored safety information for common youth employment sectors.
