New Brunswick workplaces have started to transition from WHMIS 1988 to the new requirements in WHMIS 2015. This may mean that workplaces have hazardous products with old and/or new workplace labels and (material) safety data sheets.
Employers must know what products are in their workplace, whether they are WHMIS 1988 or WHMIS 2015, and provide education, instruction and training accordingly. This means that if hazardous products from both systems are present, employees must to be educated, instructed and trained on both systems.
